Job Description

  • Develop, implement, and promotes occupational health and safety in the workplace  
  • Inspects workplaces and workplace equipment to ensure they meet safety regulations  
  • Identifies hazards and risks in the workplace  
  • Ensures that the workplace conform with organizational procedures and safety standards  
  • Ensure personal protective equipment (such as hearing protection, dust masks, safety glasses, footwear, and safety helmets), is being used in workplaces according to regulations  
  • Records and reports hazards, accidents, injuries, and health issues within the workplace  
  • Assists on the rehabilitation of workers after accidents or injuries and make sure they experience a satisfactory return to work  
  • Coordinates emergency procedures  
  • Controls and manages environment and safety related issues  
  • Maintains, inspects, and tests all fire safety equipment and systems, keeping records and certificates of compliance  
  • Does preventative, remedial and upgrade works required for the upkeep and improvement of buildings & its components, including disciplines such as painting and decorating, carpentry, plumbing, glazing, plastering, plastering, and tiling.  
  • Prepares annual report of safety and health programs  
  • Ensure all requirements are compiled and permits/licenses are secured or renewed   
  • Monitor activities pertaining the installation or construction of pollution source and control facilities   
  • Ensures compliance with noise, waste, air, water quality standards   
  • Submit periodic reports to different Government Agencies   
  • Provide action needed to correct or prevent an environmental (actual/potential) problem to maintain satisfactory environmental performance

Minimum Qualifications

  • Candidate must possess at least Bachelor's Degree in Environment/Engineering/College Degree in any field  
  • Must have relevant experience in occupational in safety and health  
  • Minimum of 3-years' work experience  
  • Must have completed 40 hrs. of Basic Occupational Safety and Health Training course (BOSH)  
  • Preferably has background as Pollution Control Officer   
  • Highly motivated person who can work as part of a multidisciplinary team
