SCPA Marks 29 Years of Purposeful Service: A Celebration of Faith, Integrity, and Lasting Impact

10 / 30 / 2025

TAGUIG CITY, Philippines – Sanitary Care Products Asia, Inc. (SCPA) celebrated its founding anniversary with the theme “29 Years of Purposeful Service,” a fitting tribute to nearly three decades of resilience and meaningful work that continues to uplift lives and communities.

What began as a small company founded by Renato Sio to provide jobs to for Filipinos has grown into one of the country’s leading hygiene companies—serving millions while still rooted in faith and purpose.

Faith as Foundation

Rene and Babie Sio recount the Lord’s faithfulness to SCPA, as well as share their nuggets of wisdom to the Head Office team.

In his message, Founder and Chairman Renato Sio reflected on the company’s journey through the triumphs and trials: from the Asian Financial Crisis of 1998 to the fire that destroyed SCPA’s first office in 2012.

“These challenges tested our faith,” he shared.  “But we always believe that as long as we put our faith in the Lord, He will not disappoint and will bless the work of our hands.”

His wife, Babie Sio, also spoke about how the company’s success is built not just on financial growth, but teaching their people about integrity. The team, after all, is SCPA’s greatest asset, the foundation upon which every milestone is made possible.

While SCPA continues to care for its people’s physical and mental well-being through initiatives like the Wellness Trips, its deeper goal is to nurture moral and spiritual wellness—fostering a workforce that not only performs well but also lives with purpose.

“We should be well not just physically, but also morally. God is with us, and we must also do honest work,” she said.

Now focusing beyond SCPA work, Rene and Babie have dedicated themselves to guiding others toward holistic wellness and financial peace, reflecting their belief that true success comes from living with integrity and a sense of stewardship.

Passing on the Purpose

The celebration also honored SCPA’s original Manila core team—dubbed the 8 Pillars—who were the pioneering members that helped build the company from the ground up. Retail Sales Director Joel Balongcas, one of the company’s first sales agents, recalled facing countless rejections but learning perseverance from Sio. “When things don’t go your way, rest and play a bit then try again,” he shared.

Institutional Sales Director Nelson Duca expressed his gratitude, saying, “RCS taught me the tricks of the trade. The lessons are the most important strategies that helped us push through the ups and downs.”

Passing It Forward: Leadership Through Service

Sales and Marketing Director Lea S. Pacis encourages the team to be a blessing to others instead of expecting others to serve them.

For Sales and Marketing Director Lea Pacis, SCPA’s success story is a call to stay grounded and generous. She reminded the team that leadership is not about position, but about service and humility. She added that gratitude should show up in how we work.

“When SCPA sends us on exposure trips or gives us opportunities to grow, these are moments not just for us; these are done so we can pass the growth forward. When you’ve been blessed, our response should be to bless others too,” she said. “Share what you know and have.”

Her words echoed the heart of the celebration: that purposeful service begins when love, faith, and humility come together.

Looking Ahead: A Year to Go Before the 30th

Together with their teams all over the country, the Sio family count down until the 30th anniversary of SCPA.

As SCPA enters the countdown to its 30th year, the company looks ahead with hearts full of gratitude—to God, Who has guided every step; to its people, whose passion have built the company; and to its partners and customers, who continue to believe in SCPA’s mission.

The year leading to this milestone will be a celebration of growth and grace, honoring the many hands that have shaped SCPA’s journey. More than a look back, it will be a renewal of the company’s commitment to serve with a purpose.
