Thriving with Strengths: SCPA Celebrates 10 Years of Unlocking Potential

2 / 13 / 2026

TAGUIG CITY, Philippines — SCPA celebrated a decade of its Strengths journey with its fourth annual Strengths Day, marking ten years since the company formally began embedding a strengths-based culture across the organization. Held at the TLC Training Hall at SCPA, the milestone event carried the theme “Thriving with Strengths: A Decade of Unlocking Potential and Empowering Growth.”

While officially the fourth Strengths Day, the celebration commemorated a much longer journey—one that began ten years ago with a deliberate shift in how SCPA viewed its people. Over the years, Strengths has grown beyond a development initiative into a defining part of the company’s culture. It is not simply a program, but a way of developing people, building leaders, and working together as one community—intentionally woven into everyday practices so that Strengths is understood, shared, and lived by all.

A Question That Sparked a Culture

Sio emphasizes the importance of naming Strengths and celebrating them, because doing so inspires productivity and collaboration.

The program opened with a message from Ven Sio, President of SCPA and the leader who introduced the Strengths philosophy to the company. Reflecting on the origins of the program, Ven shared the question that sparked the journey: “What happens if we look at people and see what’s right with them instead of what’s wrong?”

He spoke of his desire to build a workplace culture that recognizes talents as gifts—something to be named, nurtured, and celebrated. “It feels good to name it,” he shared, referring to the power of identifying and affirming people’s strengths. What began as a leadership conviction has since grown into a decade-long commitment, culminating in this anniversary celebration.

From Individual Talent to Collective Strength

The event featured two guest speakers who reinforced how strengths move from personal awareness to collective impact.

Coach Tina delivers an interactive session where she encourages participants to share their thoughts with peers

Leadership coach and human capital consultant Tina Sioson delivered a session titled “Creating Great Team Players.” She emphasized that strengths must be practiced intentionally to become enduring capabilities and encouraged employees to move beyond silo thinking toward shared leadership—reminding everyone that while individual excellence matters, organizations thrive when diverse strengths work together.

Coach Lippy challenges SCPA to not just use their Strengths for others, but to use it to care for themselves through proper self-regulation.

Coach and HROD consultant Lippy Lipio followed with his talk, “Built Different, Designed to Perform: Wellbeing Through Strengths.” He highlighted the importance of cultivating wellbeing through self-awareness, partnership, and personal responsibility, reinforcing that sustainable performance is built on understanding both one’s strengths and one’s limits.

Learning Through Shared Conversations

Our panel of coaches share their personal journey with Strengths — how they nurture them and use them to collaborate effectively with others.

Following the talks, the event continued with a fireside chat moderated by host Maria Sharyne Reyes and Coach Nikki Sio, joined by the two speakers and Gallup Certified Coach Arvy Villamarzo.

The discussion explored how investing in your Strengths amplifies impact for yourself and the team. It also highlighted how personal leadership can be expressed by influencing and supporting others. Through the chat, members of the panel also showed how leveraging Strengths through others can create a culture of care and collaboration.

Strengthening Leaders Through Coaching

Coach Anda encourages SCPA’s leaders to bring out the best in their team by using their Strengths.

In a dedicated Manager’s Track Session, Gallup Certified Coach Anda del Rosario led a session titled “Coaching Performance through Strengths.” The discussion challenged leaders to move beyond managing surface behaviors and instead drive performance by developing the natural talents of their teams. The session emphasized helping managers uncover the belief systems and internal narratives that shape how strengths influence perspective, decision-making, and daily action—equipping leaders to coach with greater depth and intentionality.

Experiencing Strengths in Action

After the panel discussion, employees were invited to take part in an interactive booth experience inspired by the world of Harry Potter.

Each booth is designed according to a Strength domain: Relationship Building, Influencing, Strategic, Executing. Team SCPA spent the afternoon appreciating each domain through a series of activities centered around them.

Each booth featured games and activities aligned with its respective domain, allowing participants to experience how different strengths show up in action. The immersive setup reinforced the idea that while strengths may differ, each plays a vital role in building a thriving and well-balanced organization.

Strengths, Lived Beyond the Stage

Beyond the talks and interactive activities, the true measure of SCPA’s Strengths journey cannot be found in frameworks alone. It is seen in everyday decisions, in how teams collaborate, and in how individuals navigate both challenges and opportunities. Over the past decade, Strengths has shaped not only performance—but self-awareness, leadership, and relationships across departments and roles.

What began as a leadership initiative has grown into a shared language across the organization. Strengths at SCPA is no longer limited to assessments or coaching sessions; it influences how work is delegated, how feedback is given, how conflicts are managed, and how growth is pursued.

For Eden Narciso, Sales Director, the shift was gradual but transformative.

“When Gallup Strengths was first introduced, I honestly wondered what it had to do with my work. But after conferences, sessions, and coaching, understanding my strengths truly helped me. It changed how I build relationships—with my family, friends, and colleagues. Professionally, it improved how I lead and organize, bringing greater fulfillment not just for me, but for the entire Sales Team.”

Her experience reflects how strengths move from awareness to application—becoming tools not only for performance, but for fulfillment.

For Donald Flores, CSL and Production Workgroup Head, strengths became a practical lens for navigating daily challenges.

“Over the years, my Strengths became the lens through which I face every day work—especially during challenges. I use them to analyze, navigate, and find the right solutions in different situations.”

Across operations, Dina Pable, Factory Supply Inventory Controller, described how strengths foster both clarity and belonging.

“Personally, SCPA’s Strengths culture helped me understand myself and my character better. Professionally, it guided me to use my Strengths to effectively manage my limitations. I’m grateful to be surrounded by people who share the same mindset of growth. I know I’m in the right place to explore and stay aligned with both company and personal goals.”

These stories underscore a deeper reality: Strengths at SCPA is not about eliminating weaknesses, but about recognizing complementary talents and growing within a supportive environment.

For Glenn Lee Regala, Accounting Team Leader, Strengths clarified his leadership style and strengthened team dynamics.

“Instead of focusing too much on my weaknesses, I learned to maximize my strengths. It gave me clarity in how I lead—especially during tight deadlines—and helped me better understand different working styles within the team.”

Meanwhile, in sales, Angelie Dellera, Key Account Specialist, shared how Strengths also strengthen external partnerships.

“Since Relationship Building is dominant for me, I’m able to connect with buyers more effectively and build trust more easily. It leads to smoother negotiations and better coordination. Within the team, appreciating each other’s strengths improves communication and collaboration.”

For Paul Pagcaliwagan, IT Staff, strengths bring both clarity and accountability.

“It’s a double-edged sword. When you know each other’s Strengths, collaboration becomes easier. But sometimes, people can also use their Strengths to justify their behavior or become blockers. That’s why understanding Strengths also means being responsible in how we use them.”

His reflection highlights a deeper layer of SCPA’s Strengths culture—one that goes beyond identification and into intentional practice. Strengths are not labels to excuse behavior, but tools meant to support collaboration and shared growth.

Together, their experiences illustrate how Strengths at SCPA has matured over ten years—from a program introduced in 2015 into a culture practiced daily. It is embedded not only in leadership conversations, but in how teams collaborate, support one another, and pursue shared goals.

A Decade of Strengths, Lived Daily

A huge shoutout to our HR Nation and Strengths Team for organizing another successful Strengths Day!

As SCPA marks a decade of living and leading with Strengths, the celebration served as a reminder that culture is built not through programs alone, but through everyday choices. What began as a simple question ten years ago—one rooted in recognizing talents as gifts meant to be named, nurtured, and shared—has grown into a way of working and growing together.

Today, Strengths at SCPA is no longer just something people learn; it is something they practice, celebrate, and live out with one another, fostering a workplace where individuals are seen, valued, and empowered to thrive with purpose.
